Call Your Legislator Immediately
AERA Members,
We need your help. Please read the message below and place an urgent call to your legislators. The House still has not voted on the ETF Budget (HB319) or HB 350 (Corporate Tax Bill). Call to Montgomery and leave a message for your representative. It is critical that they pass both bills today. Once you have called your representative, contact your senator. Urge them to pass the budget and HB350.
Please share this email with your local unit members and former colleagues. Ask them to call their legislators.

Urgent from AEA: Act Today
Tell Legislators We Can't Afford Special Session for Education Budget Take Action!
Some legislators are refusing to do their constitutional duty to pass an Education Budget in the four remaining days of this legislative session.
Here is what the Associated Press reported about Senator Larry Dixon's desire - along with some others - to put the Education Budget off until late summer.
"Sen. Larry Dixon (R-Montgomery) said some legislators want to wait on passing a budget until closer to the start of the state's new fiscal year Oct. 1 to see if the economy recovers some and the Legislature could write a more favorable budget. If so, 'it would be worth the wait and worth the cost of a special session,' he said."
Urgent: Email, call, write, fax, or see your legislator today. Tell them to do their job and pass the Education Budget now. Tell them that delaying the Education Budget would be a disaster for our schools, our students, and school employees.
