Local Coordinator Needed at CIEE

Job Opportunity
CIEE Council on International Educational Exchange
Discover what a difference you could make by being a...Local Coordinator!

Do you want to stay connected to students and the schools in your area? For an academic year or semester, 15-18 year old students from around the world become "adopted" family members in host families. They attend public high schools, while learning what it is like to live in the U.S. Volunteer host families share their homes with international exchange students who want to learn about our life and culture and share their own. These days, with an increase in international tension, the promotion of tolerance and understanding between cultures is even more important.

Our Local Coordinators recruit host families in their communities and then assist in matching students with host families. Local Coordinators develop relationships with host families, students and local high schools and help to ensure that the experience is a fantastic one for all involved.

Help recruit and select host families in your community for semester (5 month) or full academic year (10 months) programs.

  • Assist in matching students with these host families.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local high schools.
  • Represent and promote CIEE programs in your community.
  • Provide guidance to host families and students throughout the experience.

The benefits of being a Local Coordinator

  • Experience the joys and rewards of being a cultural ambassador.
  • Expand your relationships in your community. Strengthen ties with neighbors, friends, civic and religious
    groups.
  • Get to know students form many countries and help welcome them to your hometown.
  • Be an integral part of a life-changing experience that families and students never forget.
