Action Alert! Urge Your Legislators to Vote NO on the American Health Care Act

Retirees, it is imperative that we all call our U.S. Representatives ASAP and urge them to vote NO on the health care reform bill, which will increase costs for all senior citizens including those on Medicare.

Dear Retired Educators Association Leaders,

Tomorrow, the U.S. House of Representatives will hold the first big vote on their health care reform bill – and the consequences could be dire.

Higher premiums. An “age tax” on older Americans. Opening the door for Medicare vouchers and benefit cuts. All to give special interests a billion dollar handout. This bill would be a disaster. AARP is doing everything we can to stop it – but we need your help.

Your U.S. Representatives need to hear from you and your members before this crucial vote. Please call 1-844-567-7800 today, and tell them to vote NO on this special interest health care bill!

Calling is one of the easiest and most effective ways to make your voice heard on Capitol Hill – and it takes just a minute. Here’s what to do:

  1. Dial 1-844-567-7800 and follow the prompts to be connected to your legislator’s office.
  2. Once you’re connected, tell the staff person that you’re a constituent who is counting on your Rep. to vote NO on the American Health Care Act, which would weaken Medicare and let insurance companies overcharge older Americans by thousands of dollars a year for their coverage.
  3. That’s all you need to say, but personal stories can make a big impact! If you feel comfortable, you can also tell them how having to pay thousands more for your health care would impact your and your family’s lives.

Reports from Capitol Hill say that this will come down to the wire, and every single vote will count. That’s why it’s so important that your Representatives know that you’re counting on them to fight against skyrocketing health care prices – not making the problem worse by increasing costs and risks for older Americans.

So please, ask your members to call their Representatives today at 1-844-567-7800 and tell them to vote NO on the special interest health care bill – before it’s too late!

As always, thank you for all that you do on behalf of America’s retired teachers and school personnel.
